Strengthen Your Case with Powerful Legal Storytelling

Legal cases aren’t just about facts and filings — they’re about people. But the emotional weight of what your client has lived through can get buried in paperwork or lost in translation. That’s where we come in. Led by three-time Emmy-nominated investigative journalist Joe Douglass, Clear Eyed Media produces settlement documentaries and day-in-the-life videos that bring your client’s story into sharp, undeniable focus. These legal videos are built on verified timelines, real voices, and strong visuals, making them impossible to ignore at the mediation table.

We collaborate with law firms across the U.S., working closely with your team and trusted videographers to craft strategic videos rooted in deep reporting, narrative clarity, and emotional impact.

We also gather and assess key evidence from discovery, including deposition videos, surveillance footage, medical reports, and more, and can sometimes make compelling presentations with that material alone. With decades of experience as a journalist, screenwriter, producer, and editor, Joe leads every project to ensure the story hits home.

Our videos help juries, mediators, and insurance adjusters see what’s at stake — often speeding up resolutions and increasing settlement value.

Stories that get results (examples of my work):

Why these examples?

Most of my legal video work is used in confidential mediation and can’t be shown publicly. These public-facing stories reflect the same reporting-driven, narrative approach I use in settlement documentaries — stories that have helped drive real legal outcomes.

I produced this TV report as a journalist in one day about a woman's death behind bars. It captures the facts and gut-wrenching testimony that led to a $650,000 settlement.

When insurers denied autism therapy, this family fought back, and the state only stepped in after my investigation. A public example of the legal storytelling I now do for attorneys.

A look at my background as a journalist and how I now use those same storytelling skills to help attorneys build stronger cases through settlement documentaries and day-in-the-life videos.

Peter Janci

 Partner, Crew Janci LLP

"I hired Joe and Clear Eyed Media to create a settlement demand video for a complex negligent security case. Joe was insightful, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. The final 20-minute video seamlessly combined body cam footage, deposition testimony, photos, documents, and custom footage with compelling narration. It received positive feedback from a respected mediator and was invaluable in achieving a favorable case resolution. The pricing was reasonable, and the process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!"

"During my time in the Northwest, Joe collaborated on several stories for me. His adeptness in posing challenging questions consistently elicited profound emotions from the individuals he interviewed.

I must highlight the pivotal role Joe played in reporting on my campaign to secure the release of my brother from a prison in Mexico. His reportage garnered the attention of our US senators, ultimately leading to my brother's release and our eventual reunion. Joe's contribution was instrumental in achieving this significant outcome."
